I thought all the singers were very good, conveying the emotions in the songs well, and were sensitively accompanied by Yukiko on the piano, whose solo (Christmas Blues) was great too. I liked the varied choice of repertoire and wish you well with future performances.

My husband, who was to have come (a cold and noisy cough kept him at home!) has just listened to the tracks on your web-site and really regrets he had to miss the concert. I hope that Avril can arrange for you to make a return visit. Best Wishes and thanks Jacqueline Yeates

Both my wife and I enjoyed every moment. You are a remarkably talented bunch. We have added your website to our favourites and will hope to enjoy further concerts in the near future. Both Della, my wife, and I sing in choirs. Della is Chair of the New Horizon Singers, and I sing with the Taunton Barbershop Harmony Club. Our barbershop chorus sings an arrangement of "I'm beginning to see the light" and I was somewhat intrigued to know the meaning of "It's a four alarm fire" which occurs in the lyric. As the term was obviously American I emailed New York City Fire Department for an explanation. I feel that you might have interest in the reply from Captain Michael Meagher.
"Before explaining a 4th Alarmer, let me explain a 1st Alarm assignment to a structural fire. Every street corner in New York has a number assigned to it. For example Alarm Box 1500. The nearest fire company to that Box is listed on an assignment card. The next line on the card has the next closest company etc. In New York City, if you get a phone call reporting a fire you will get 3 engines, two ladder companies, a Rescue Unit and a Squad Unit and a battalion Chief to supervise. If they arrive and find a fire of significant size they will tell the dispatcher to fill out the entire alarm assignment. Which normally is four engines, three ladders and two battalion chiefs. Also assigned is a Deputy Chief who will supervise the fire, and about 35 firefighters.
A fire large enough to constitute a Fourth Alarm ,will quadruple that assignment. Added to those firefighters are; A city-wide tour commander, the Chief of Operations, the Chief of the Department. Special units are may also be called for: A Hazardous Materials Unit, a decontamination Unit, a foam unit for fighting fuel-based fires etc.
Not listed on the alarm assignment card are the numerous ambulances and medical supervisor who will also respond.
I hope this information will assist you.

Aren't firemen wonderful! With highest regards, Andy Dickson

Wonderful voices that work so well together, accompanied by a sympathetic and brilliant pianist, created such a professional performance, with an empathetic, intimate and warm atmosphere. The repertoire was varied and evoked a wide range of emotions to which the audience could relate. I am sure you will soon become known and appreciated by a wider public.
